On Exercise...

We’re so glad that you’ve landed on this page. We hope you find exactly what you’re looking for here and that you decide to join us. If, after you’ve read everything we have to say here, you decide this place isn’t for you – then we genuinely wish you the best of luck on whatever journey you are on.

A word about fitness…

The term “health and fitness” has become synonymous with abs and biceps for men, and the perfect “bikini body” for women.

We see people doing lots of “extreme fitness” stuff – often involving lots of jumping on and off things, puddles of sweat, terrifying heavy things and inducing complete exhaustion.

All in the most terrifying of places: THE GYM.

Alex has been the best thing that could have happened to me.

If you want to improve yourself but seem to be getting nowhere, I was exactly the same and Alex’s help made a drastic difference!

Inigo B.

Which is fine. If you like that and you feel it is relevant to you, then you get stuck in and have fun!

HOWEVER – there are lots of people out there who see that kind of thing and it just makes no sense to them.

They take one look and feel downright frightened by it all (which, by the way, is totally fine and normal, most of us at the Studio have never set foot in a gym for exactly this reason!). They just don’t see why or even how they would ever do something like that.

If you recognise any of these feelings, we think you might be one of us.

See, for everyone who comes to the Studio, health and fitness is about the impact it can have on our lives.

It’s not about drinking the fitness Kool-Aid and becoming one of those people who gets up at 5am and goes “Hey guys, let’s go for a run! YEAH GO TEAM! WHOO!!”

Nope, nope, nope. Exercise is bloody hard and most of the time it’s a damn sight easier and more comfortable to hang out on the couch and catch up with box sets on Netflix.

If you feel like that – cool. You’re perfect just the way you are, right here, right now. There’s no need to feel guilty or ashamed for those thoughts, because you’re absolutely right – it is easier, and more comfortable, to stay put.

Hey guys, let’s go for a run! YEAH GO TEAM! WHOO!!

Somebody, somewhere, probably.

But the reward for getting off that couch can be huge. Possibly more than you’ve ever actually thought about.

The reason everyone comes to the Studio, regardless of their specific goals, is ultimately so they can stop feeling limited by the things their body cannot do.

Whether that means struggling to get up and down the stairs, suffering with a lot of excess weight, or just having had a hard time with their health for a while.

Exercise is a means to an end. Whatever the goal it’s always some means to reclaim some LIFE, so you’re able to do the things you love again.
